It鈥檚 no surprise that many students don鈥檛 have the required materials for their first day of classes, with reasons ranging from expense, to availability, to pure procrastination. Whatever the reason, students who have the right materials are destined to succeed more often than those who do not. This is where Inclusive Access comes in.
桃子视频鈥檚 Inclusive Access (IA) program ensures that students have immediate access to required course materials, directly inside their Brightspace, on the first day of class and at the lowest price possible. Students enrolled in courses with Inclusive Access automatically receive their required materials digitally.
With Inclusive Access materials included in the cost of admission, students can begin working as soon as day one.
Inclusive Access FAQs for Students
How does Inclusive Access benefit me?
- You鈥檒l save money! IA is the most cost effective solution for students, average 50-80% lower than market rates for equivalent printed materials.
- You'll always get the correct materials.
- You鈥檒l have easy, immediate access to the correct course materials before the first day of class.
- Materials are billed directly to your student account.
- You aren't forced to participate. Simply opt out during the opt-out period at the start of the course.
How do I know if my course uses Inclusive Access?
Courses that use Inclusive Access materials will have a notation on the course鈥檚 bookstore listing, indicating if materials are part of the IA program. Additionally, you will receive an email about a week before classes start that will inform you which of your courses are participating in the program.
How/when do I pay for IA course materials?
If your instructor chooses to add course materials to the IA program, students will automatically be opted into the program. Charges will appear on your student account before the start of your classes. However, participation is optional and you may choose to opt out of the IA program. Please see the section titled 鈥淗ow do I opt out of IA?鈥 for instructions on opting out.
How much will I be charged for material?
The price varies upon the materials your instructor uses, but IA materials are less expensive than purchasing directly from the publisher or other vendors. You will receive an email with information on which classes are part of the program and how much you will be charged for each material.
How will the charge appear on my bill?
The charge will be listed as {COURSE}_Course Materials (i.e. PSYC304_Course Materials).
How do I access materials?
Log in to Brightspace, access your course, and locate the course materials link to gain access to your materials. To avoid access issues or being prompted for further payment, make sure you access materials through your Brightspace course. If you are unable to locate the link to your materials, please contact your instructor or the Campus Store.
How do I opt out of IA?
If you do not wish to participate in Inclusive Access, you must opt out within 14 days after the start of your class to receive a refund. You can opt out by accessing the 鈥淐ourse Materials by eCampus鈥 link found in your Brightspace course. A refund will be applied to your student account.
If you are unable to locate the 鈥淲ant to opt-out?鈥 option, please email iasupport@ecampus.com and include your course information. Please note that if you opt out of the IA program, you will no longer have access to the required course materials, and you will be expected to purchase materials elsewhere.
Can I opt back into the IA program if I change my mind?
You can easily opt back into the IA program within the first 14 days of your class. If you need to opt back in, navigate to the 鈥淐ourse Materials by eCampus鈥 link found in your Brightspace course and select the 鈥淥pt-In鈥 option.
What are Print Upgrades?
Print upgrades are specially priced print versions of textbooks that are provided as optional add-on purchases to your Inclusive Access materials. While IA materials are provided through Brightspace and are typically paid for through fees included with tuition, print upgrades are purchased directly through 桃子视频鈥檚 online bookstore website.
Please note that print upgrades cannot be used to replace Inclusive Access materials.
What happens if I drop a course?
If you drop a course that was participating in the Inclusive Access program, your student account will automatically be refunded according to 桃子视频鈥檚 refund policy.
I'm having trouble. What are some common troubleshooting tips?
- Students will sometimes attempt to access their material directly through publisher websites. For IA material, you must use the links in Brightspace.
- Occasionally device and/or browser settings will prevent students from accessing materials. Recommendations include trying a different browser, clearing cache/cookies, restarting the device, or possibly using a different device.
- For Apple devices, please make sure that 鈥淐ross-site tracking鈥 and 鈥淎llow tracking cookies鈥 are enabled (especially for vitalsource.com).
- Sometimes students will use the same material in class that they used in a previous term and may receive notice that their access has expired. If this is the case, please contact IA Support at iasupport@ecampus.com.

鈥淚 would like to express my appreciation for the inclusive access [program]. It has been incredibly helpful, and I鈥檝e received very few questions from students about accessing the materials. They are doing well with the required coursework, and the process has been seamless overall. I wish I had adopted these years ago!鈥 - B. St. Hilaire
What makes a good Inclusive Access Adoption?
There are two requirements for adding an adoption to the Inclusive Access program: 1) your course material must be required (not recommended or optional) and 2) your course material must be digital. If any of the situations below apply to you, your course may be a good candidate for the IA program.
- You utilize digital courseware
- You utilize or are willing to utilize a digital eBook
- Students often show up to the first day of your class without the required materials
- Your students run into issues with access codes that they鈥檝e purchased online
If you are interested in adding your course to the IA program but are not sure if it is a good fit, please email the eCampus IA team at inclusiveaccess@ecampus.com. Please include as much information as possible in terms of your course and adoption(s).
Why are students allowed to opt out if the material is required?
As per federal regulations, students must have the option to opt out of the Inclusive Access program. If a student chooses to opt out of the required IA material, they will be expected to purchase the material elsewhere in order to fulfill the requirements of your course.
Why doesn't the ISBN on the IA Dashboard match the ISBN I adopted?
Based on several factors, the ISBN may need to be adjusted to facilitate content delivery. ISBN changes will not affect content, only the manner of delivery and/or product pricing (discounted pricing is often assigned by custom ISBNs).
How do I set up my courseware?
For most publisher courseware you will need to add a separate link in your Brightspace course for students to access the material. Please see the popular help articles below or contact your publisher representative for specific instructions.
