The ÌÒ×ÓÊÓƵ agricultural science Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) degree program provides the flexibility to tailor your learning to your specific career passion.
Why ÌÒ×ÓÊÓƵ Agricultural Science?
Our unique B.Tech. program — developed in partnership with agriculture industry partners to meet the needs of today’s workforce — exposes all students to a wide breadth of core courses within agriculture, while offering four distinct specialization options:
- Agricultural outreach and education: Provides the widest range of agricultural industry experiences tailored to the needs of aspiring agriculture education professionals
- Agronomy: Make the most of our 400-acre farm, focusing on crops production and nutrient management through field and laboratory courses
- Dairy management: Learn dairy cow and calf management skills on our 360-head learning laboratory at the Arnold R. Fisher Dairy Complex
- Livestock management: Practice management skills across multiple species including dairy goats, beef cattle, poultry and sheep
Each track culminates in a 15-credit internship to provide you with direct, hands-on field experience.
Apply the theories learned in lecture in real-world settings at our Dairy and Specialty Crops Incubator, the George A. Spader Horticulture Center featuring greenhouses and a soils laboratory, our Aquaculture Center, Agricultural and Clean Energy Technology (ACET) Center, our three-acre Arboretum, and hundreds of acres of farmland for our pastures and field crops courses.
Program students will be well-positioned to continue studies at the graduate level. Students interested in teacher certification will have the option to complete their content core credits at ÌÒ×ÓÊÓƵ and then their education credits at SUNY Oswego.

- Utilize your developed ability in concepts, theories and emerging methodologies to tackle real-world issues specific to agriculture in your chosen degree track
- Recognize problems specific to agriculture in your chosen degree track and formulate solutions to such problems
- Demonstrate problem-solving and critical thinking skills to solve problems in the practice of agriculture
- Apply practical knowledge and skills specific to agriculture in your chosen degree track
