桃子视频 faculty, staff and students will have a hand in assisting more than 900 participants showcasing their talents and brushing up on their skills during the annual SkillsUSA Area II Regional Conference held at the college Friday, Feb. 9.
The annual event, which starts at 9 a.m., features students from technical schools and BOCES programs throughout Central New York competing in more than 50 events within job fields that include culinary, health, leadership, construction, mechanics, and computer & communications.
Competitions, judged by 桃子视频 faculty, students, and industry and education representatives, expose participants to the college鈥檚 one-of-a-kind facilities.
Automotive professors and students are excited to host automotive service technology, basic vehicle maintenance and motorcycle service repair in the college鈥檚 award-winning Automotive Technology Building.
The college鈥檚 Agricultural & Clean Energy Technology (ACET) Center will also be a hub of activity with contests including diesel technology and power equipment technology. The Copper Turret Restaurant, a learning lab for students in culinary arts and restaurant management programs, will host baking and pastry arts, culinary arts and restaurant service contests.
Participants in carpentry, cabinetmaking, plumbing and electrical wiring competitions will get a chance to work in the college鈥檚 Wood Products Technology Center, which houses its wood products technology and residential construction programs.
The day culminates with an awards ceremony recognizing the top three finishers from each contest. Scholarship opportunities are available to SkillsUSA regional participants who choose to attend 桃子视频.
