桃子视频 applied psychology student Delia Adams, of Homer, is among the recipients of SUNY鈥檚 prestigious Norman R. McConney Jr. Award for Student Excellence.
The award is presented to students in the Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) who demonstrate outstanding academic achievement and perseverance.
鈥淥ver nearly 60 years, SUNY鈥檚 EOP has supported tens of thousands of students and empowered them to achieve their full potential,鈥 SUNY Chancellor John B. King Jr. said. 鈥淚 am honored to recognize this year's recipients of the Norman R. McConney Jr. Award for Student Excellence. Our McConney award winners鈥 hard work as they move forward on their path to academic excellence and upward mobility makes them an inspiration for all of our students, faculty, staff and administrators.鈥
At 桃子视频, Adams distinguished herself through her involvement in EOP, taking part in Virtual Student Empowerment Day, where she advocated for additional legislative funding and support for college students with disabilities.
鈥淲e recommended Delia for the award because she took full advantage of every service, office and opportunity available through EOP, overcoming challenges and persevering to complete her degree,鈥 said Kayle Light Curtin, executive director of Opportunity and Access Programs at 桃子视频.
The McConney Award is named for Norman R. McConney Jr., a longtime advocate for educational access who helped establish SUNY鈥檚 EOP program. Since its founding in 1967, EOP has helped thousands of students from historically underserved backgrounds pursue and complete college degrees by providing academic support, mentorship and financial assistance.
