Morrisville State College will host Ag Day on May 1.
The event, which is free and open to the public, will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Most events will be held in the academic quad (in front of Marshall Hall).
Participants can see horses and dairy cows, learn more about agriculture and maple syrup, take a hay ride around campus and sample Morrisville State's homemade ice cream during the annual event.
A team of Morrisville State College students took second place in the prestigious Bistro Challenge at the International Food Service Executives Association (IFSEA) Conference 2014 held recently in Orlando, Fla.
Clad in matching shirts emblazoned with the Morrisville State College logo, a team of Morrisville State students trudged through a mud-filled obstacle course 20 miles away from campus to pay tribute to a little boy they never met.
Lisa Iannello, of New Berlin, has been named interim executive director at the Norwich Campus of Morrisville State College. She will also continue in her role as grant coordinator for Morrisville State.
In her new role, Iannello will be responsible for daily operations at the Norwich Campus while a search for a new executive director is under way.

Kelly Gardner, coordinator of Alumni Relations and Jennifer Pierce, web developer at Morrisville State, received the award from the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) in the category Website: Alumni Relations. Their entry, “Morrisville State College Alumni Website Redesign 2013,” was recognized for its use of an alumni news section to highlight specific individuals, direct messaging and its creative and innovative content.
“Monsters” and their relationship in the modern world will be the focus of Morrisville State’s annual Science Technology and Society Symposium, “Monsters: Killer Robots, Mad Scientists and Abominations” taking place April 17 in the John W. Stewart Center for Student Activities (STUAC).
Morrisville State students joined some of the top chefs in Central New York in support of the American Red Cross during the 28th Great Chef's dinner held recently at the Skaneateles Country Club.
This year's dinner, which featured several of the best chefs from the finest restaurants in Central New York, served up seven courses, including appetizers, hors d'oeuvres, amuse-bouches, an array of succulent entrees and a grand dessert in the shape of a 1950s-era kitchen, with decorative touches made from flour, sugar, chocolate and other edible products.
Morrisville State professor Corey Hayes' fascination with rabbits is taking him out of the classroom and into an overseas adventure.
The rabbit hobbyist and assistant professor of agricultural business management, has been selected to be a judge at the third Malaysian American Rabbit Breeders Association (MARBA) National Rabbit Show April 12, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Rob Simpson, President and CEO of CenterState Corporation for Economic Opportunity (CEO), will give a presentation at Morrisville State on April 3.
The lecture, which is free and open to the public, will be held at 1 p.m. in Charlton Hall, Room 125. Simpson is a key economic development figure in Central New York, having been the Governor's appointed co-chair on Economic Development and allocation of state funds for CNY. He is also the leader of many of the current economic development initiatives in the region, working with the Governor's StartUp NY initiatives.
