Interested in making a game and being part of a global experiment in creativity? Ƶ is once again serving as a host site for Global Game Jam® (GGJ), the world’s largest game jam event, taking place Friday, Jan. 26-Sunday, Jan. 28.
During the worldwide event, participants are given a central theme and just 48 hours to create a video or board/card game.

A 1997 Mustang Cobra is getting the chance to shine again, thanks to students in Alexander Graf’s auto body technology classes.
Gone is the faded paint, replaced with metallic green to make it look like new again. The Cobra is one of the many projects going on in Ƶ’s auto body technology program under the leadership of Graf, instructional support assistant.

The New York State Office for People With Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) and The State University of New York (SUNY) joined with Ƶ and developmental disabilities service provider ACHIEVE today to announce that the college’s direct support microcredential program in the field of developmental disabilities is accepting spring enrollment for this successful program, which will soon graduate 35 students into the field.

It was a day to learn all things agriculture! And there was plenty to learn about from horses, aquaculture and dairy, to maple syrup and soil science.
Twenty-five booths were part of this year’s Ag Day at Ƶ, which attracted nearly 500 participants, including students from Hamilton, Madison, Stockbridge Valley and Morrisville-Eaton’s agriculture programs.

While he normally spends his summer traveling for fun, this year was out of the ordinary for Ƶ Professor Christopher Scalzo.
Scalzo, professor of business, spent three weeks as a consultant — sharing his expertise in Kabba, Nigeria, where he worked with a team on a five-year strategic plan at the Kabba College of Agriculture. The college is a division of Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, located in West Africa.

Coach Seth Carsten, a former professional woodsman, is seeking veterans and rookies of varying majors and abilities to join the team, which showcases speed and precision with axes, chainsaws and other tools associated with traditional lumberjacking challenges.

There was no containing the excitement in Sarah Dickinson’s voice — her lifelong dream of helping horses finally coming true as she checked in as a new student during Ƶ’s Welcome Weekend events, Aug 24-27.
The 18-year-old Ƶ student, from Ripley, followed her passion for horses, enrolling in the college’s equine science, equine rehabilitation program.

Ƶ’s Norwich Campus has partnered with local organization, ACHIEVE, to help strengthen New York’s direct support professional workforce.
The move follows a recent announcement from SUNY regarding schools partnering with the New York State Office for People With Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) through a direct support microcredential program that will provide training leading to national certification in the field of developmental disabilities.

Leonard Cunningham came to Ƶ in the fall of 1913, a member of the third entering class in the school’s young history.
It was a relatively short trek in those days; Cunningham’s father worked as a farmhand at a Cazenovia farm, just over 11 miles to the west on Route 20 — a hilly dirt road that would remain unpaved until the early 1930s.

From their offices at Ƶ, nursing professors Norma Swartout and Jane Stephenson marveled at where their students were completing online courses for their bachelor’s degree curriculum.
One student was logging in from Europe, where her husband was stationed in Germany. Another had traveled to visit family in India, while another had returned home to Africa to complete her internship and coursework.

Noah Greger ’18 knew one thing growing up — he loved cars. He had a knack for mechanics, rebuilding engines and fixing motors long before he was old enough to be in the driver’s seat.
The first spark was his longing to restore a rundown Datsun sitting in a neighbor’s yard, in his Danbury, Connecticut hometown, and later fixing the engine on the ATV his parents bought him when he was 11.

Mitchell, who graduated this May with a degree in criminal justice, wrapped up his collegiate playing career as one of the most decorated student-athletes in the history of the Mustang football program.

Justin Redivivo didn’t set out to work in the agriculture field. He grew up in Canada, completed high school there and came to the United States to join his family and seek employment. He worked at Foxwoods Resorts Casino in Connecticut and attended college briefly to study hospitality. “College wasn’t my thing,’’ he said.

Staring down into the crystal-clear waters of the Caribbean Ocean, Lilo Starr came across a breathtaking sight.
While snorkeling off Eleuthera Island in the Bahamas, Starr observed a magnificent display of multicolored fish just a few feet below them. The beautiful underwater scene captivated the 19-year-old Ƶ sophomore from Pearl River, New York.
